Builder website design in Edinburgh

A World Heritage core, conservation areas across half the city, a building warrant for everything and title deeds that decide what a tenement owner may do at all. Half your competitors will not quote it.

Three weeks from go ahead to live, and about ninety minutes of your time: one call, twelve photographs, one read through.

Places your site can be built to cover, never a list of builder jobs anyone has done in them.

The awkward bits

The things you say before you say yes

Consent and conservation slow every job to a crawl

And thin the field to almost nobody. Say plainly that you work inside consent, what usually needs it and what does not, and how long it has taken you before. A homeowner in the New Town who has been turned down twice is not comparing prices by the time they reach you.

English builders' websites do not describe what happens here

Which is your opening. There is no building regulations approval in Scotland, there is a warrant, and there is no party wall notice either. A page that gets the process right is a page that sounds like it has been through it, and almost none of the ones ranking above you do.

Which Edinburgh areas should the page name?

EH1 to EH17 plus EH28 to EH30 is the post town, and it is enough. EH18 to EH27 are Midlothian, East Lothian and West Lothian — Dalkeith, Bonnyrigg, Loanhead, Musselburgh — each with its own name, its own council and its own page if you genuinely drive there.

Everything here takes three quotes and a fortnight

Which is good for you if the page does the deciding. A homeowner comparing three firms over two weeks reads far more than one who rings the first number, and the firm that wrote down how the job actually runs is the one still in the conversation on day ten.

What you get

The pages your site needs

A page per job, never a page per suburb.

Extensions

The sequence of the job, week by week, in your own words.

Loft conversions

A different buyer from an extension, so a different page.

Renovations

Dates and sequence matter more than finished photographs.

Groundwork and foundations

The part nobody photographs and everybody worries about.

Structural alterations

Where building control and a calculation enter the conversation.

Garden rooms and garages

The faster jobs that keep a team busy between the big ones.

What each of these pages has to do

The one question your form must ask

Do you have drawings yet?

It sorts a customer who is ready to book from one who is eighteen months out, and both are worth having.

One thing about Edinburgh worth checking

Checkable, like the rest of this page. Here is where we read it.

EH21 — Musselburgh, Wallyford, Whitecraig, Newcraighall — is split between East Lothian and the City of Edinburgh, so two jobs on the same road can sit under different building standards departments.

Beeforge is a small studio working across the UK and Ireland. There is no office in Edinburgh and we are not going to pretend otherwise — nothing here says we have worked in the city, only that we build for builders who do.

Straight answers

Questions we get asked most

How much does a website cost for a builder?
Ours come in under the price of a coffee a day and you get the number on the first call. Across the market a template is a few hundred pounds and a written site is several thousand. Whoever you use, ask for the five year total including hosting and changes.
Why is my building company not showing on Google Maps?
Almost always no Google Business Profile, one that was never verified by post or video, a business name and address that does not match your site, or no reviews at all. Fix them in that order. All four are free and all four beat a redesign.

Next step

Tell us your trade and the towns you cover

A straight yes, no, or not yet, within one working day.

Nothing to sign

No twelve month tie in, no exit fee and no notice period. Stop whenever you like and the site stays yours.

It is yours, in writing

Before you pay a penny we tell you who the domain is registered to, where the files sit, who holds the logins, and how to move the site elsewhere.

Your side of it is small

No copy to write and no hosting to work out. Answer questions for about an hour and a half and send twelve decent photos.
